Although the trails skied great this morning, by this afternoon it had warmed up enough that we melted back to grass in a spot or two. This prevents us from being able to regroom the green and green-blue ski trails without driving the snowmobile over the unprotected (uncovered) turf, which could damage the grass and threaten our ability to continue to groom trails at Woodmoor. However, more snow is due in prior to Christmas, and I don't expect us to lose much snow on most of the existing trails. We are ahead of the past couple winters concerning our current snow coverage, so hopefully after the next storm we can quickly reopen, and move snow to these few susceptible spots to help ensure a nice long local ski season!
