Hoping for big snow

The past several unseasonably warm days (mid-to-upper 50s) has taken a toll on our local ski trails; but, we have only melted back to grass in a few spots as of noon today (pictures below).

We still have plenty of existing trail with decent snow coverage, and many spots that likely still have a foot or more of snow. Thus, we should only need ~3" (more if the snow is accompanied by a lot of wind and drifting) to be able to groom and re-open.

We are still looking at the potential for some good snow and colder temperatures as we go into the weekend, and we'll be out working on the trails as soon as enough has fallen. Right now they are predicting snow through Sunday, and it takes several hours of grooming post-storm, so we might not be able to re-open until mid-morning Sunday or later. We'll update the website and trail conditions blog after the snow has arrived and when we know more. Think snow!

Survey for new local XC ski trails

I hope everyone enjoyed the recent spring snowfall! Although this winter was among our worst ever (across the entire state of CO), the current long range forecast for next year is looking promising--
