As the map depicts, Monument (and most of Southeast CO) has been 'neglected' this winter by our usual winter snowfall. The fact that we have gotten 26 days of local skiing despite only getting ~75% of our average snowfall is a testament to our nonprofit volunteers who have helped move and shovel snow to the various thin spots we had to contend with this winter due to the lack of snowfall.
The long-term forecast for the rest of the month is not looking promising--warmer days and limited chances for snow--and the fact that we've lost the majority of our ski trail snow base only complicates matters....
