The snow has started falling in Monument, and although the local forecast keeps changing, 4-10" is still the predicted snow range, with the below graphic showing the best possible scenario by Saturday mid-day:
If we get enough snow to safely roll the trails (with no risk of damaging the underlying golf turf), we will hopefully be doing that Saturday morning. We also got approval to finally move our rental gear out of summer storage and into the Golf Pro Shop on Sunday, so we can set up for the season now that golf is done for the year.
It's possibly we could have a 'soft opening' for the ski trails Saturday afternoon or Sunday (but likely no rental availability just yet), but very snow dependent. We do have cooler temperatures for the foreseeable future, so hopefully any snow we get in the next 48 hours that we are able to groom in will stick around and set us up for a local opening soon after our next snow storm.
Finally, I've had several folks contact me about purchasing Woodmoor Nordic memberships/season passes to give as a Christmas gift. We are happy to do this, and still keep it a surprise by mailing the passes directly to you, with a paper copy of the liability form mailed with the passes that can be given and completed by the recipient, and returned to us after Christmas when they come up to use their pass the first time. You can email any questions to WoodmoorNordicNonprofit@gmail.com
Look for an update post storm and think snow!
