XC event tonight! And hopefully trails open through Friday am

Eric Burton is presenting UpaDowna's 'Adventure on Tap' tonight on behalf of Woodmoor Nordic Nonprofit. Eric is a volunteer board member, trail groomer, and rental shop volunteer, and a key contributor to our local Nonprofit Nordic center. Please stop by Rico's Wine bar tonight if you want to learn more about cross country skiing on the Front Range!

Our 4 open trails—everything except the black loop, which is temporary closed due to some thin gravelly spots on some downhills—were re-groomed this morning. There are some thin spots grassy spots, but most of the coverag is still good. The blue loop still does not have carpet underneath the 2 cart path crossings, so requires care and should only be skied by experienced skiers.

Given the predicted temperatures, I expect we’ll remain open for skiing through Friday morning—although we may begin to melt out later that day in spots. More snow is due in Friday night through the weekend though, and hopefully we’ll get enough to improve our snow base and be able to set classic tracks. Think Snow!

I hope everyone enjoyed the recent spring snowfall! Although this winter was among our worst ever (across the entire state of CO), the current long range forecast for next year is looking promising--
