The days are getting shorter, the weather cooler, and we've got snow flying in the mountains--it won't be long until we see our first local snowflakes. As such, we are starting to prepare the golf course for our Nordic ski trails, and could use some volunteers who would be available to help us post trail signs, remove sticks/debris from trails, and basically us ready for snow and grooming. Volunteer hours worked this season can be credited for a discounted Woodmoor Nordic membership/season pass for next year!
Trail work will occur from roughly 8-10am on Monday the 24th and/or Monday the 31st (when we can access the golf course without encountering golfers.) If you are available and interested in helping, there is a volunteer sign-up form on our website under the 'volunteer' tab. (Other volunteer opportunities will become available later this season--more details are listed online when you sign up.)
We are also working out the details for two Woodmoor Nordic 'ski season kick-off' Q&A info sessions, tentatively planned to be held at the Country Club at Woodmoor in the evenings of November 2 (Wednesday nite) and either the 4th or 5th (Friday or Saturday nite). We plan to have a presentation about the trails, a raffle, silent auction, and tax-deductible memberships/season passes will be available for purchase. Think Snow!
