There is a chance for some fresh snow later this week, but current predictions show not enough likely to fall to allow us to re-open. Hopefully a better chance next week. Our past few warm afternoons have caused more trail sections to melt back to grass, but with colder temperatures and 3+ inches of new snow, we should be able to get most of our trails groomed and reopened....
We are heading into what are typically the snowier months locally, but as the days are also warmer and longer, we can't always count on our spring snow storms to result in good local skiing. Many spring storms drop so much fresh snow that it takes us several days to groom and pack down the trails, and then they are already melting out in wind-blown spots by the time the roads are passable and trails are skiable. Still, we are hoping to get more snow soon so we can add to our 30 days of local skiing this winter. Think snow!
